March 2012 - THIS week's PICTURE

Snow Day: Joiner photograph by Malcolm Aslett

00

Yet another work in progress.

So let me set the scene. It has been snowing. The boy has been outside and depleting an arsenal of snowballs onto his mum and finally come in to dry off and rest. The bright snow through the window wouldn't even register with a regular photo if you wanted the interior to show. So the windows are taken in sections with their own exposures..

Two full walls arc in the centre and parts of two more are at the edges. This is not the complete set. I stopped at this point to assess what was here. The blue carpet to left is a section in question. One array of photos has it pointing to the ceiling and another to the left. How do I want to merge the two? I haven't decided. There is also another section showing the boy sitting on another sofa facing the windows. At this stage I'm not sure if it would be too complex to include it in this photo, further fragmenting a focus to the picture.

Obviously a lot of choices to be made at this point. Hope to have something further along to show next week.
